What types of evaluations are conducted?At School Neuropsychs of CT, LLC, we request guiding questions to determine the reason for a School Neuropsych evaluation. Based on this information, we begin to build a test battery and may use additional evaluation tools as needed. Our evaluations often focus on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, learning disabilities, autism, anxiety, depression, neuropsychiatric, and executive functioning.

Do you collaborate with my child's school?Yes, we work closely with school teams through referral review, record analysis, staff interviews, and observations if necessary. We also thoroughly review assessment results and recommendations.

What happens on the day of the evaluation?During the evaluation, various assessment tools are administered, including cognitive, neuropsychological, and psychological tests. These may include paper-and-pencil tests, computer-based assessments, and interviews. The length of the evaluation depends on the reason for referral and guiding questions. Parents will be asked to complete forms in an adjacent room. As the evaluation can span several hours, there is a kitchen for your use - please feel free to bring snacks and/or a meal. If you prefer, there are many restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. Additionally, the office is located in a comfortable shared coworking space so you are free to use a workspace/desk with access to free WiFi.

How are payments handled?School Neuropsychs of CT, LLC does not participate with insurance. Evaluations are priced hourly, and the exact cost will be determined based on the guiding questions or referral reason. We will provide a proposal that considers factors such as time to evaluate, meeting attendance, interviews, observations, and more.

Do you offer any other services?Yes, we do! While we often have great relationships with school districts, we can provide educational advocacy resources and/or individuals who will support you and your child in their educational journey. We also work with ADHD and Executive Functioning Coaches who may be a fantastic resource for your family!
